What is a Credit Report? A credit report lists your credit cards and balances, loans and loan balances and how regularly you make payments. It's a record of how you have borrowed and repaid your debts over the last 7 years. Lenders use this information to determine your credit worthiness for new credit.
Your credit report is created by data about you from many different sources. It is also an accumulation of personal data about you - your address, social security number and more. There are three main credit bureaus that your credit is regularly reported to by your creditors and others - Equifax, Experian and Trans Union.
